A 30-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Byadarahalli following a domestic dispute over a small financial issue, police said on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Suma (30).
Senior officer told reporters that she ended her life after an argument with her husband Chandrashekar over Rs.200,triggering shock and grief in the family.
Suma and Chandrashekar had been married for about eight years and have two children.Police said the couple had taken a loan of Rs.1,300 from a self-help group.
While Rs.200 from the amount was missing, Chandrashekar allegedly used the money for personal reasons,which later led to a dispute between the couple.
Family members said the argument was minor,and both Chandrashekar and his mother tried to pacify Suma. However,she remained distressed and was under severe mental and financial pressure.
After the argument,Chandrashekar left for work,and as there was no one else at home,Suma allegedly took the extreme step.Chandrashekar discovered her in a hanging position when he returned home for lunch.
The Nelamangala Rural Police registered a case and visited the spot for inspection.Further investigation is underway.
