A bomb threat was received via email at the Passport Office located near Lalbagh in Bengaluru on Tuesday, triggering a security alert and prompting immediate action by the police.
Following the threat message, bomb disposal squad personnel and police teams rushed to the spot and carried out a thorough inspection of the premises and surrounding areas.
Police officials from S.R.Nagar and Wilson Garden police stations visited the location and conducted detailed checks as part of precautionary measures.Security in and around the Passport Office was tightened while the inspection was underway.
Police sources said that no suspicious objects were found during the preliminary search.Further investigation has been launched to trace the source of the email and identify the person behind the bomb threat.
