The Sarjapura police on Tuesday registered an FIR against the principal and management of Euro School, located on Gunjur Road,for allegedly cheating parents by collecting admission fees while falsely claiming that the school had obtained all required permissions.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by a parent,P.Indu.Police have booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Karnataka Education Act and for cheating,and further investigation is under way.
According to the complaint,the school invited applications for admissions,for which the complainant paid Rs.1,000 as application fee on November 8,2025,to enrol her child.
The school management allegedly assured parents that all necessary approvals had been obtained from the competent authorities.
Ms.Indu later paid Rs.25,000 towards admission fees. However,when she sought details of the permissions granted to the school,the management allegedly refused to share any documents.
Subsequent inquiries revealed that the school building was still under construction and that the management had not been granted any official permission to run the institution,the complaint stated.
The complainant alleged that several parents were cheated after the management concealed this information and collected money.
Ms.Indu also approached the Child Rights Commission, the Education Department,and the Department of Public Instructions,seeking action against the school management.
