The Bengaluru Police successfully ensured safe, secure, and well-coordinated New Year celebrations across the city by leveraging the advanced Bengaluru Safe City infrastructure, reaffirming their commitment to technology-driven, citizen-centric policing.

On New Year’s Eve,Bengaluru witnessed large public gatherings at prominent locations including MG Road, Church Street,Opera Junction,Indiranagar, and Koramangala.

To effectively manage crowds, enhance situational awareness, and proactively prevent untoward incidents, the Police deployed large-scale video surveillance and AI-driven monitoring using the Bengaluru Safe City ecosystem implemented by Honeywell and powered by the Awiros AI platform and Vision AI applications.

More than 200 cameras, including Safe City cameras and community cameras, were actively monitored between 6:00 PM and 3:00 AM.

These comprised bullet and PTZ cameras running multiple Vision AI applications to provide real-time intelligence and post-event analysis.

The integrated Command and Control Centre enabled police teams to take swift and informed decisions on the ground, ensuring smooth movement of people and vehicles throughout the celebrations.

The Face Recognition System (FRS) was activated at critical locations to match faces against police watchlists, with all alerts cross-verified as per standard operating procedures.

No major suspicious movements or high-risk individuals were detected, reinforcing the effectiveness of preventive surveillance and enhancing public confidence.

Simultaneously,AI-based crowd estimation, crowd flow monitoring, and heat-map analysis helped identify congestion points at an early stage, enabling timely crowd regulation measures and traffic diversions.

Advanced Vision AI applications such as person attribute analysis, fire and smoke detection, and abandoned object monitoring further strengthened situational awareness across high-footfall public zones.

No incidents related to fire, smoke,or unattended objects were reported during the event.

Traffic management was enhanced through parking violation detection,wrong-way vehicle alerts,Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR),vehicle classification, and vehicle counting.

These measures significantly reduced traffic bottlenecks and helped prevent potential accidents in crowded areas.

The seamless integration of Safe City infrastructure with the Awiros AI platform enabled the Bengaluru Police to transition from reactive monitoring to predictive and preventive policing, ensuring enhanced public safety while preserving the festive spirit of the city.

As Bengaluru steps into the New Year, the Bengaluru Police reiterated their commitment to leveraging advanced technologies, strong public-private partnerships, and responsible AI to build a safer, smarter, and more resilient city.

The Police also extended heartfelt New Year wishes to all citizens and thanked the people of Bengaluru for their cooperation, responsibility, and community spirit that ensured peaceful and joyful celebrations.
