A tragic incident was reported from Nelamangala where a young man lost his life after accidentally getting trapped in a noose while attempting to scare his mother under the influence of alcohol.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar,an electrician by profession.
Senior officer told reporters that the incident occurred around 8 pm on Tuesday.Vijay had consumed alcohol and returned home,where he demanded money from his mother for expenses.
When she refused,he allegedly threatened to commit suicide,a tactic family members say he had used several times in the past as a joke.
In an attempt to frighten his mother,Vijay reportedly placed a noose around his neck.However,he accidentally got stuck and suffocated.By the time family members realised the seriousness of the situation,he had already died.
Sources said Vijay was known for his playful nature and had earlier indulged in similar acts,prompting his mother to repeatedly warn him not to joke about death.Despite her advice,he continued the behaviour,which tragically led to his death.
Nelamangala Town Police rushed to the spot,conducted an inspection,and registered a case.The body has been shifted to the Nelamangala mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Vijay’s mother had reportedly been planning his marriage,a dream now shattered by the tragic incident.
Family members are inconsolable and have described the death as an unfortunate result of reckless behaviour under intoxication.
