Countdown Begins For New Year Celebrations; High Security In Bengaluru Senior officials conducted final inspection of security and crowd management

With New Year celebrations set to begin from Wednesday night,senior police officials conducted a final inspection of security and crowd-management arrangements in the city’s central business district, including MG Road and Church Street.

Deputy Commissioners of Police carried out inspections to review bandobast arrangements,CCTV coverage, traffic diversions,parking facilities,lighting,and barricading,as part of the New Year countdown preparations.

The inspection was led by Joint Commissioner of Police Vamsi Krishna,Central Division DCP,Akshay M Hakay and West Division Traffic,DCP Dr.Anoop Shetty, who reviewed the arrangements on the ground and verified whether security measures were in place as per the approved deployment map.

Speaking to reporters,West Zone Joint Commissioner of Police,Vamsi Krishna said the police department is fully prepared for New Year celebrations and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure public safety.
Security has been strengthened on Brigade Road,MG Road,and Church Street,he said.

He said barricades and lighting systems have been installed,and police have also taken note of suggestions from the public,which can be submitted through a QR code-based feedback system.

As per the traffic and crowd movement plan:

Kaveri Junction will serve as the entry point
Opera Junction will function as the exit point
Standing or loitering on public roads will not be permitted.

Police have installed over 360 CCTV cameras in the immediate area,with around 6,000 additional cameras deployed across the city.

A command and control centre has also been set up to monitor celebrations in real time.

The police have directed pubs and bars to close by 1 am,In addition,50 flyovers across Bengaluru will be closed as part of traffic regulation measures.

Visitors heading to pubs and bars have been advised to use K C Das Road for entry and exit via Opera Junction.

Separate pathways have been arranged for women and families to ensure safer movement.

Police have appealed to the public to cooperate and follow instructions to ensure a safe and incident-free New Year celebration.
