The Bengaluru traffic police have registered 439 cases against drivers and riders for drunken driving as part of a special enforcement drive conducted across the city.
During the special drive,traffic police checked over 31,075 vehicles and booked motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol.
Earlier, during a similar special drive conducted on December 22, traffic police had checked more than 24,786 vehicles and registered 349 cases against drunken drivers and riders.
Traffic police officials said the special enforcement drive has been launched with the objective of preventing road accidents and will continue until December 31,Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police Karthik Reddy said .
