3 arrested for gangrape,blackmail of college student in Magadi

The Bengaluru South District police have arrested 3 men including two students for gang raping a 19-year-old college student in the month of September and October this year.

The Magadi police have registered a case of gangrape after the survivor lodged a complaint on Wednesday against her assailants and the cops have arrested the three accused on the same day- identified as Vikas, Prashant and Chetan,all residents of Magadi Town.

According to the police,the incident of sexual assaults dates back to September and October in Magadi Town.

The survivor who is a college student came in contact with the prime accused Vikas,also a college student around 6 to 7 months ago.

The police said that in the pretext of falling in love with her,Vikas used to take the girl student to his friend Prashanth’s house where she was sexually assaulted more than once.

The police also said that another friend Chetan videographed their intimate moments and later the three of them started blackmailing the girl with the footage they had on their mobile phones and threatening her to come whereever and whenever they called her.

Unable to bear with the torture,the girl decided to file a complaint with the police on Wednesday.

SP Srinivas Gowda said”We have arrested all the three accused involved.Two of them are students and one was working.

All this three were friends with the victim and they are known to each other for more than a couple of months. Prime accused is a student of Humantarian Science in the college”
