A tragic incident was reported from Panchasheela Nagar in Govindarajnagar on Sunday afternoon,where a mother and her four-year-old son died after allegedly inhaling gas leaking from a bathroom geyser.
The victims have been identified as Chandini (26) and her son Yuvi (4).
The incident occurred when Chandini had taken her child for a bath.
Senior officer said the geyser is suspected to have leaked gas, causing both of them to fall unconscious.
Local residents,who noticed the delay and sensed trouble, rushed the mother and child to Victoria Hospital. Despite medical efforts, both succumbed without responding to treatment.
Chandini’s husband,Kiran, works as a carpenter.
The Govindarajanagar Police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation.
