In a case of murder–suicide pact reported in the Suddaguntepalya police limits on Monday,a 68-year-old woman and her daughter allegedly poisoned themselves after killing the latter’s 14-year-old son at their house in Sudduguntepalya police station limits on Monday.
The incident occurred at Tavarekere 2nd Cross.and the deceased have been identified as Madamma,68,her daughter Sudha,38 and Sudha’s son Maunish,14.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the family consumed poison around 9 am.Police suspect that the boy was killed before the two women took their own lives.
The family,which once ran a biryani business and later a chips unit,had reportedly suffered huge financial losses.
Madamma and Sudha were working as domestic helps and also running a small milk supply business.
Senior officer told reporters that the women were heavily in debt and are believed to have ended their lives due to financial problem.
Probe revealed that Sudha had been living separately from her husband for a few years and stayed with her mother and son.
The Suddaguntepalya police,along with DCP Sarah Fatima and Forensic team inspected the spot.
The Police are searching the house for a death note or other evidence to ascertain the exact motive.
The incident came to light when neighbours went to check after noticing the family did not come out of the house after a long time .
The police are questioning the neighbours to ascertain if there are any other issue related to the incident.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the police are waiting report to further investigations .
