A 24-year-old woman died of suffocation after inhaling toxic carbon monoxide (CO) gas from a gas geyser leak while she was taking a bath.
The incident occurred at Thotadaguddahalli in the Madanayakanahalli police station limits on November 29.
The deceased has been identified as Bhumika,a homemaker and a native of Hassan.
She had married Krishnamurthy four months ago,and the couple had been living in a rented house in Thotadaguddahalli for the past 15 days.
According to the police,Bhumika’s husband, Krishnamurthy,who works in a private firm in Peenya, had gone to work on the morning of November 29.
Bhumika had gone to take a bath and died on the spot after inhaling toxic fumes caused by carbon monoxide leakage from the gas geyser.
When he returned home in the evening,she did not respond despite repeated knocking and phone calls.
The door was then broken open,and she was found lying in the bathroom.
The police said that a case of unnatural death has been registered.
