Friends Of Police Powerful citywide initiative kicks off today “Mission aimed at strengthening community policing and youth participation in crime prevention Says Seemant Kumar Singh

In a massive outreach initiative,as many as 800 police personnel-from the City Police Commissioner to PSI-level officers-participated in the Bengaluru Police’s “Friends of Police”mission aimed at strengthening community policing and youth participation in crime prevention.

As part of the drive,the police teams fanned out across the city,visiting educational institutions under their divisions,sub-divisions,and police station limits.

The officers delivered PPT presentations,interacted with students,and encouraged them to join hands with the police to tackle crime,drug abuse,cyber crime and law-and-order issues.

The city police aim to rope in two lakh students as part of the Friends of Police team to build a safer and more informed city .

Over 10000 students took the pledge and enrolled to help the police and be their“eyes and ears.”

“This is not only an awareness programme,but an initiative to strengthen police public relationship,” Seemant Kumar Singh,City Police Commissioner,said .

The police visiting the school gave a PPT presentation to the students and interacted with them about the safety apps launched by the police and its usage and how they can help police to share the information.

This will help us to understand and take necessary action to prevent the any untoward incidents happening at the school and college level .

The response was good as 10,000 students enrolled in the program and taken pledge to help the police,which has strengthen the intelligence network of the police .

“I am very excited interacting with the police and I’ll help the police to fight crime.The police officer also told us on how not to ride bikes without license and use safety helmet,“a student from a private college said.
