In a swift action,the Halasurgate police have arrested a 45-year-old Rowdy-sheeter who had robbed 23.2 Kgs of 49 silver bars from the jeweller worth Rs.37 lakh on Saturday night .
The accused identified as Ayaz Choudhary followed the jeweller carrying the silver bars on a scooter to hand it over to the customer.
While the victim was busy in keeping the helmet in a boot space,the accused picked up the bag containing the silver bars and escaped .
The victim raised alarm but the accused managed to vanished.
Based on the complaint,the Halasurgate police took up a case of robbery and gathered around 50 CCTV footage to identify the accused.
After the picture of the accused captured in one of the CCTV which was corroborated with the habitual offenders gallery,the police raided the house of the accused and arrested Ayaz.
Based on his confession the police have recovered the robbed valuables intact from 49 places across the city where he had concealed by then.
The accused had over 50 criminal cases including house break,robbery and attempt to murder case including 23 cases which are pending trail .
