The HAL police on Monday arrested a 24-year-old gym trainer along with five of his associates for robbing two women techies posing as policemen while they were having a late night birthday party at their house on Last Thursday.
Based on the complaint,the police track down the accused based on technical details and arrested Mohammed Najash,a gym trainer and his associates Vinu KT,23,Sarun M.38,Diwakar,34,Madhu Kumar,32 and Kiran, 29.
Senior officer told reporters that victim,a native of West Bengal and working as software engineer met the prime accused Najash at a cafeteria few days ago and the duo became friends.
The victim,on November 6 invited Najash as she was hosting her birthday party.Najash went along with Vishnu and attended the party.He noticed the lavish life of the victim and plan to rob her.
As per the plan he called his friend Sharon on his phone explaining the plan and asked him to rope in few others to execute the plan.
As per the plan the accused knocked the door as swiggy delivery boys and later barged into the house posing as policemen.
They conducted checks and threatened the victims to book them under NDPS and also involved in illegal activities .
The victim pleaded innocence for which the accused demanded ₹5 lakh to drop the charges.
The victim expressed that they did not have any money following which the accused took their two mobile phones asking them to arrange and gave them the next day.
Shocked victims,narrated the ordeal with their friends and based on their advise approached the police .
The HAL police registered a case of robbery and suspected something fishy and checked the call record details of Najash and CCTV footage before zeroing in on the accused.
The accused have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody .
