Jayanagar GBA Office Fire:Firefighters Save Two Lives Short Circuit Suspected

A fire broke out at the GBA office in Jayanagar 4th Block on Monday,due to suspected short circuit triggering panic among employees and visitor on Monday afternoon.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and fire and emergency service personnel swung into action and doused the fire and brought the situation under control.

During the rescue efforts,fire personnel safely evacuated Krishnegowda,who was trapped inside the lift.

Another person,Arun Prasad,an employee of the Minor Irrigation Department,was provided first aid and later shifted to a Bengaluru hospital for further medical evaluation.

Senior Officials Inspect Site:

Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner, Maheshwar Rao,Commissioner,K.N.Ramesh,and Additional Commissioners visited the site and carried out an inspection.

Officials confirmed that no major damage occurred to the building or the offices,though the electrical duct sustained damage due to the short circuit.

Probe Team Formed:

Commissioner K.N.Ramesh said a team comprising officials from the BBMP South Zone,BESCOM,and the Fire and Emergency Services has been formed to investigate the exact cause of the electrical failure and submit a detailed report.

BBMP officials remain stationed at the site.As a precaution,power supply to the entire commercial complex has been cut,and all shops and offices have been temporarily closed to facilitate a complete inspection and repair of the electrical wiring.

Encroachment Clearances Ordered:

During the inspection,authorities also instructed officials to remove unauthorised vendors and clear the pedestrian pathways around the complex,which had been encroached upon.
