Two Biryani vendors during day turned bike lifters in night arrested by Mahadevapura police and recovered 20 stolen bikes worth Rs.37 lakhs

The Mahadevapura police have arrested two notorious bike thieves who worked as biryani vendors during the day and turned into serial offenders at night,targeting high-end motorcycles parked outside houses.

The arrested accused have been identified as Manu kumar and Sachin.Police said the duo had married two sisters,and had been running a biryani pushcart business for nearly 10 years.

Explaining the Modus Operandi,the officer said that the accused during daytime used to sell biryani on a handcart.

After dark,they roamed residential areas and broke the handle locks of Bullet,Duke and other expensive bikes parked outside houses.

The stolen bikes were used for joyrides with their wives, police revealed.

Investigations also found that the wives knew their husbands were thieves,yet continued to enjoy the rides with them.

With their arrest the police have have recovered 20 stolen bikes worth ₹37 lakh .

The accused are habitual offenders and several cases of bike lifting pending against them in Ramamurthy Nagar,Mahadevapura,HALand Whitefield police station limits,have now been detected.

The Mahadevapura police have taken further legal action against the arrested accused.
