CISF’s quick action prevents ‘major crime’ at Bengaluru airport accused arrested by KIAL Airport police

Alert Central Industrial security force personnel caught an armed cab driver Kempegowda International Airport premises on Sunday night who is about to stab two others cab drivers over rivalry.

It was around 11:59 p.m.CISF personnel who are on rounds noticed a man running toward two taxi drivers with a long metal knife near the Arrival Lane of Terminal 1.

Acting immediately,Asistant Sub Inspector,Sunil Kumar, assisted by two of his colleagues,swung into action and overpowered the attacker identified as Sohail Ahmed and seized the weapon .

Preliminary inquiry revealed that he was familiar with the targeted taxi drivers—Jagadish J.R.and Renu Kumar. Ahmed reportedly told the officials that he had been assaulted earlier around 1:30 a.m by Jagadish,Renu,and another taxi driver,Gangadhar Angadi,and had returned to retaliate.

The CISF personnel handed over the accused along with two of the cab drivers to the KIA Police Station for further legal action.
