Two-year-old killed after cement lorry crashes into compound wall

In a tragic incident,a one-year-eight-month-old boy was killed after a compound wall collapsed on him when a cement mixer truck accidentally snagged an overhead electric wire in Kundalahalli Colony on thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pranav,the only son of Siddappa and Lavanya.

Senior officer told reporters that the accident occurred around 4 p.m.on November 7,when a cement mixer lorry, returning after completing moulding work at a nearby house,came in contact with an overhead electric wire.

The wire got entangled and pulled down a concrete electric pole,which in turn caused a portion of a house wall to collapse.

At the time,little Pranav was playing in the compound of the house when the wall debris fell on him.He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to injuries on the way.

The HAL police have registered a case and are investigating.The driver of the cement mixer fled the scene soon after the accident.

Grieving parents,Siddappa and Lavanya,were inconsolable at the sight of their only child’s body, which has been shifted to Bowring Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
