Two habitual offenders arrested by Begur Police recovered stolen property worth Rs.72 Lakhs

Investigating a house break theft,the Begur police have arrested two habitual offenders who were involved in as many as five house break thefts reported in and around the city .

The accused according to the police have gained entry into a house in Vishwapriya layout on June 18,that 330 grams of gold ornaments and 1.2 kilos of silver articles.

The police gathered CCTV footage and with the help of technical details the police zeroed in on Shanth Kumar, 37,while he was moving suspiciously near Muneshwara Layout based on his information the police arrested his associate,Jnanaprakasham,40,near Begur lake and recovered recovered 381 grams of gold ornaments and 470 grams of silver articles from three jewellery shops in Chintamani Taluk and three jewellery shops in K.G.F., where they had pledged worth Rs.72 lakh .

Shanth Kumar according to the police is wall painter by profession in day time while his associate Jnanaprakasham is a carpenter .

Krishnakumar P.S.,Police Inspector,who led the investigation with his team found that with the arrest the team managed to crack five house breaks occured in Begur,Hosakote and Chikkaballapura police station limits.

The accused are habitual offenders come to the city in train and move around residential areas to identify locked houses.

The accused do not use mobile phones and cover their faces with masks while operating.However the duo was caught based on the distinguished physical description availed while verifying the CCTV footage.

City police commissioner,Seemant Kumar Singh appreciated the police team for cracking the house break thefts and advised people to be careful while locking the house and inform the jurisdictional police while going out of station.This would help the police to keep an eye on the house while on patrolling .
