The Puttenahalli police have registered a case of sexual harassment against an autorickshaw driver for harassing a 19-year-old female student,after dropping her to her destination on Monday.
Despite filing a complaint with the details of the accused the police are yet to track down the accused even after a week .
The incident occurred on September 8,when the victim, from JP Nagar had booked the autorickshaw on the Rapido ride-hailing app at 4.28 pm from her college to her house.
The autorickshaw bearing the registration number ( KA01 AQ9254)picked her by the accused identified as Hanumanthappa H Talwar.
Narrating the ordeal the victim,in her complaint said that she reached her destination at around 5.15 pm and about to get down .
The accused Hanumanthappa told her that she looked like a film actress and,on the pretext of helping her bring down her bag,touched her body inappropriately.
He also forced her to remain in the autorickshaw.He touched my forehead asking whether i had temperature and when i resisted and asked him not to touch me the accused groped her, she said in her complaint .
“He first touched my forehead,saying he was checking if I had a fever.Despite my telling him not to touch,he touched me inappropriately,”the survivor alleged.
The survivor pushed him aside and ran to her house.She informed her mother before approaching the police.
Earlier on September 7,a 29-year-old web designer was molested twice by a man while she was helping an injured stray dog near Jakkur Double Road to cross the road on last Sunday night .
The accused,identified as Manjunath,an engineer by profession was chased by the victim’s friends and caught after he lost balance and fell while riding away .
He was then handed over to the Amruthahalli patrolling police who reached the spot later.
However,he managed to flee and later traced by police at his apartment near Bagalur.Manjunath sustained injuries,and admitted to the hospital and police arrested him later .
