Young man dies of electric shock,lineman arrested for burying body of labour

While investigating a missing complaint,the Gundibande police have arrested a 30-year-old BESCOM lineman who buried the body of a 27-year-old labourer after he was electrocuted while repairing a line in Polampalli village of Chikkaballapura district on Monday.

This incident not only exposed negligence on part of the BESCOM employees but also exposed hiring villagers for risky jobs illegally .

The incident came to light when Gangaraju,a farmer has filed a complaint with the police on Wednesday that his younger brother Anil BA,is missing mysteriously .

Anil who worked as daily wage labourer went to work on Monday and missing since then.The family searched for Anil as his phone was not reachable before approaching the police .

Based on the complaint,the police began investigation and inquiries found that he was last seen with BESCOM Lineman,Chandrakumar.

The police tried to track Chandrakumar but he was not responsive.Suspecting something fishy,the police managed to track him down.A Detailed questioning led him to confess to the crime.

Chandra Kumar told the police that he got a complaint about fault line at the pole and Asked Anil to climb up the pole for him offering money.

Anil readily agreed and climbed up the pole and electrocuted within seconds as the accused failed to inform the office to disconnect the power.

More over Anil was not trained to take up such risky jobs, a senior officer,said .

Anil crashed on the ground soon after the electrocution and succumbed.Scared that of the consequences Chandra Kumar carried the body to a near-by lake side , buried and escaped .

The accused has now been charged under culpable homicide not amounting to murder and concealing the crime for further investigation.
