Three member inter-state gang arrested by Kadugodi police and recovered 12 Stolen Idols worth Rs.6.5 Lakhs

The Kadugodi police have busted a gang of three and recovered 12 idols which they had stolen from two temples in and around the city .

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Rabbi, 22,Mohammed Yusuf,20 and Mohammed Babu, 20 .

Senior officer told reporters that the accused had broke open Muneshwara swamy temple in Kadugodi on the night of July 28 and made away with the idols and donation box.

Based on the complaint,the police stepped up the night patrolling and managed to pin down one of the accused who was carrying cutting plier,hexablade and iron rod with him the cops detained him.

A detailed probe led him to confess and led to the arrest of two of his associates from their rented house in Sheegehalli .

The accused also confessed that they had burgled a temple in Hosakote and stole idols .

The stolen idols they had given it to a junk shop owner Erandahalli in the outskirts of the city, which has been recovered .

The accused had stolen an autorickshaw from Avalahalli which they had used to move around the area to identify their targets,the officer, said .

With their arrest the police have cracked three cases including two temple thefts and taken them into custody for further investigations .

City police Commissioner,Seemant Kumar Singh, appreciated the police work and announced a cash reward of Rs.10,000.
