Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to make comprehensive preparations for the upcoming state-level Independence Day celebrations.
Presiding over a preparatory meeting held today at the BBMP Head Office regarding the Independence Day event,he instructed department heads to ensure the responsibilities assigned to each department are carried out effectively to make the program a success.
He emphasized the need for foolproof arrangements at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground,where the state-level celebration will take place.
Specific instructions were given regarding seating arrangements, entry protocols at different gates,parking management,traffic diversions,and ensuring there is no confusion in any aspect of the event.
The BBMP Health Division has been tasked with arranging ambulances for first aid,ensuring adequate toilet facilities on the grounds,taking preventive measures to avoid any untoward incidents,and installing CCTV cameras for security monitoring.
Regarding cultural programs,the Chief Commissioner stressed the importance of proper planning,including the selection of appropriate teams to perform songs.
He also instructed that police personnel and scanning equipment be deployed at entry points for security checks.
As the monsoon season is ongoing,he directed officials to ensure that rain does not disrupt the event.He also instructed that children participating in the cultural events be provided with refreshments and drinking water during their training sessions.
The meeting was attended by Bengaluru Urban District Commissioner Jagadeesh,Special Commissioners Suralkar Vikas Kishor and Naveen Kumar Raju, Zonal Commissioners,Digvijay Bodke and Ramya,Deputy Commissioners,Joint Commissioners,and officials from BBMP, Police,BESCOM,Public Works Department, BWSSB,Department of Kannada and Culture,among others.
