The absence of Station House officer at the station causing inconvenience to the members of general public and delay in redressing the grievance .

City police commissioner,Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the department is working on it to streamline the system to ensure prompt and effective redressal system in place.

Elaborating on the present system during the media interaction held at press club,Mr.Singh said that the ideally it is Inspector who is in-charge of the station but who is also have other duties to attend and he is on the move all the time .

However whenever he step out of the station he should write it on the station house dairy to handover the charge of the station house officer to take care over the office work.

But this is not happening for many reasons and the staff at the office and the people who come to the station with the grievances had to wait for the officer in charge to return.

This is resulted in inordinate delay in handling the complaint and effective the redressal system,which majority of them needed immediate attention.

This situation will also proving negative for the proposed victim centric approached as many complaints and disputes comes to the station can be resolved through proposal dialogue on the spot,if attended immediately,a senior police officer said.

“We are aware of the issue and taking measures to resolve at the earliest “,Mr.Singh reiterated .
