The Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case of assault against three people who assaulted a 35-year-old swiggy delivery executive for not giving them way at the traffic signal on Saturday night .
It was around 11:00 PM when the victim,Prema Ram, returning home after work.He stopped his scooter at the Modi signal near KFC at Rajajinagar.Though it was late night I follow rules and waited for the signal to avoid fines Prema Ram told reporters.
The traffic was light and there was only an autorickshaw and car waiting on either side his scooter.The accused came from his back riding triple in his scooter as Dio Bike and started honking to move.Prema Rama told them to wait since it was just a one minute signal .
Enraged by this the trio got down and assaulted him kicking and punching him while others looked on.The trio was drunk and hurling abuses at me and punching my face constantly,Prema Ram,said .
The accused fled when few passers by shouted police police leaving Prema Ram bleeding on his face .
The Hoysala reached few minutes later and took him to KC General hospital for treatment.Prema Ram after recovering from his wounds he approached Basaveshwaranagar police and filed a complaint .
A video of the incident has also surfaced.It showed the accused individuals attacking the delivery guy on a busy road.
The viral video revealed that accused assaulted the victim when he was waiting for the signal to turn green. After this,the accused grabbed the victim from his collar and took him to the side of the road.
The Basaveshwaranagar police are now trying to track down the accused based on the CCTV footage .“I just followed traffic rules and got beaten up for no fault of mine“,he rued .
