Basaveshwaranagar Police Arrested A Fake Lawyer For Obstruction Of Duty

The Basaveshwaranagar police have arrested a man claiming to be advocate turned fake who created a ruckus at the police station objecting to the arrest of a conwoman who allegedly cheated several people to the tune of crores of rupees.

The suspect is Yogananda,52,who later turned out to be a classmate of the accused,Savitha,booked for cheating affluent women in the city after getting closer to them at kitty parties.

Initially Police thought Yogananda was a lawyer due to his attire,but later found out that he knew Savitha. Yogananda also tried to take the suspect’s house keys away,which was seized by the police .

“He has been booked under assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),”and remanded to judicial custody .

The police had earlier arrested Savitha for for allegedly cheating more than 20 women several crore after befriending them at kitty parties in the city.

According to the police,Savita used these social gatherings to build trust with wealthy women,claiming to have close ties with prominent political figures and collected large sums of money from them under the pretext of high-return investments.

She was also lured many women to invest in her gold business from the United States at discounted rates and cheated them.

She was earlier booked in similar case and was out on bail to continue to dupe people in different areas of the city.
