Panic gripped among the patients and their attendants for some time as fire broke out in the seminar room in the burns block of Victoria hospital due to a short Circuit in the switch board in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Two Fire tenders along with Fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
According to the hospital sources,there were 26 patients including 14 male,five female and seven children including five in the intensive care unit who were housed in the ward.
As a precautionary measure all the 26 patients have been shifted to different wards.
No casualties have been reported as all the patients their attenders, doctors and hospital staff are safe and the situation is under control.
The administration including senior doctors of the hospital are analysing the situation to restore normalcy to restore power supply which was disconnected for sometime.
