Speeding cement laden truck knocked woman to death and two others injured in road accident near Nice Road

A 52-year-old woman was killed and two others, including a minor boy were injured after a speeding cement laden truck knocked down the scooter they were riding at the Nice Road entry near Veerabhadra Nagar Junction in Nayandahalli on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Renuka G.N.(52),a resident of BDA Layout,Basaveshwaranagar.The injured are Kusuma (32)scooter rider and her son Mokshit,9, who were riding pillion.

Senior officer told reporters that the incident occurred around 1:03 PM while the trio were on their way to a temple.
The accused driver,Govardhan (32), was reportedly speeding and driving recklessly on Nayandahalli Ring Road towards Nice Road and while passing through the cross near DG Circle,the truck crashed into their scooter from behind.

Due to the impact,the victim threw up on air and crashed onto the road.Renuka,who was riding the scooter,was run over by the lorry,sustained grievous injuries.

Kusuma suffered fractures to her right arm and leg and Mokshit sustained facial injuries and the trio rushed to Dayananda Sagar Hospital in KS Layout.

However,doctors declared Renuka dead on arrival.The injured however are being treated and are said to be out of danger,confirmed the police.

The police have booked the lorry driver under Sections 281 (rash driving), 125(A) (endangering human life), and 106(1), of BNS and are further investigating.
