City Police Chief Directs Foot Patrolling on Weekends, Festivals as Proactive Measure

In an effort to strengthen community policing and enhance ground-level vigilance,City Police Commissioner,Seemanth Kumar Singh on Tuesday said that he has instructed all station-level officers to undertake foot patrolling during weekends and festive seasons.

The directive is part of a proactive policing strategy aimed at deterring crime,improving public interaction, and increasing the visibility of police personnel in sensitive and high-footfall areas.

Officials said that such initiatives help in building trust with the public and ensure quicker response to emerging situations.

As part of the initiative,Mr.Singh said that the jurisdictional Police Sub Inspectors along with the regular patrolling staff should go on foot patrolling at the crowded areas especially during weekend and festive seasons especially in the evening time .

This will not only improve public police interaction but also deterrence to the anti-social elements and mischief mongers.

Study according to him,shows that the police presence has reduced the crime rate and improve law and order situation.

The senior police officials have also been instructed to map the sensitive areas in their jurisdictions and deploy foot patrolling to improve its effectiveness .

This initiative will compliment the regular patrolling system where Hoysala patrolling staff stationed at the specific locations would rush to respond to any eventuality within few minutes,he added .

As Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Seemanth Kumar Singh instructed all Division police officers and staff to do foot patrolling all Division of Bengaluru City as West,North,South,Southeast,East,Northeast,Whitefield, Central Division were seen doing Foot patrolling in their jurisdiction to curb drug menace, eve-teasing and other Anti-social activities and build confidence in people and boost them this practice is being done from many years says a senior officer.
