Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai has extended heartfelt congratulations to renowned Kannada writer Bhanu Mushtaq for being honored with the prestigious International Booker Prize.
In a post on X,he stated that by winning the first Booker Prize for her short story collection Tamma Edeya Hanate (The Warmth of My Heart),she has brought global recognition to Kannada literature,which is a matter of pride for all Kannadigas.
He expressed his hope that Bhanu Mushtaq’s literary journey will continue to rise and further elevate the glory of Karnataka.
Bommai also congratulated writer Deepa Basti,who translated Bhanu Mushtaq’s Kannada work into English.
