Bengaluru’s ‘Robin Hood’ burglar arrested by Byadarahalli police recovered stolen gold valuables claims he paid poor students’ school fees with stolen booty

The Byadarahalli police on Monday arrested a 35-year-old habitual offender involved in as many as 11 house break thefts in and around Bengaluru.

Even though the accused used to spend the stolen money on vices and shared with his two associates,the accused parents claimed that he would also helped his friend to pay the school fee for his child.

Based on house break theft case reported the Byadarahalli police following a lead from the CCTV track down the accused identified as Shiva (35) and his associates Jagga (35) and Vivek (30) in connection with a gold theft case reported recently.

Shiva according to the police having multiple cases registered against him at different police stations including at Begur,Indiranagar,and Jeevan Bheema Nagar police stations.

Senior officer said,Shiva using the stolen money bought autorickshaw and move around the residential area to identify the locked houses .

He would break into the house after receiving them through his friends,stealing valuables which were later sold in Thiruvali,Tamil Nadu.In total,the stolen gold ornaments weighed around 260 grams and were sold for approximately Rs.22 lakh.

During investigation it was revealed that the accused shared the money among themselves,with Shiva allegedly using the amount to pay school fees of one his friend’s child.

The accused is very shrewd,he is trying to play the game to gain sympathy and reap the benefit, said a officer,,It is like some habitual offenders have the habit of paying part of the crime money to the temple donation box, does that means he is good.

The offence committed by him can not be justified by such acts,he added .

With his arrest the police recovered 250 grams of gold valuables from him and efforts are on to ascertain his criminal background.
