Masked man armed with pistol enters pub, robbed cash Rs.60,000 and flees after police arrive;Theft suspected

An unknown man armed with a pistol,break into a bar and restaurant and made away with the cash in Subramanyanagar police station limits in the wee hours of Monday.

The incident occurred at the Geometry Brewery and Kitchen near Malleswaram between 3.30 am and 4 am.

According to the police,the accused broke open the back door of the bar and restaurant entered the brewery office on the third floor and stole around Rs.50,000 to 60,000 in cash and damaged some CCTV cameras.

The night patrolling team along with QRT team of Subramanyanagar police rushed to the spot after being alerted on the 112 helpline by the security guard of the brewery.

Meanwhile, the security guard came down and locked the doors after he “was showed the weapon”,which he claimed looked like a pistol.

The area was cordoned off and a Quick Response Team (QRT) was also dispatched.

After a detailed search operation,it was revealed that the suspect had fled the spot.It was yet to be clear how the suspect escaped.

Dcp north division,Saidulu Adavath,visited the spot and supervised the investigation .

After collecting details he said the incident occurred at
around 4 am.The security guard of Geometry brewery called 112 saying,one person broke open back door and entered the pub office in 3rd floor .

When checked he has shown small weapon.He came down and closed the doors of pub .

Local Night round officers and inspector attended immediately and cordoned the area.

One QRT team came verified the whole building and found no one in pub.

It found that some cash around 50-60k was stolen .

Additional Commissioner of Police,West, Vikash Kumar Vikash said The Subramanya Nagar police have intensified the search for the thief who broke into Geometry Pub and made away with the cash.

Based on the information from the watchman who told the police that armed man carrying pistol holed up inside the pub the police along with the QRT team searched the premises conducted thorough search but the accused had escaped .

Probe so far revealed that the accused had backdoor to gain entry into the pub and stole the valuables . Analysing the sequences of events the police officials said that the accused was wearing mask,gloves and switched off the CCTV in the premises before entering the third floor where the valuables were kept.

We Suspect insiders hand in the incident as the accused had prior information about the area and taken precautionary measures and aware about the entry and exit points.

Based on the complaint,the Subramanyanagar police have registered a case of house break and theft for further investigations.
