The HAL police have arrested a 35-year-old domestic help who had stolen valuables worth Rs.12 lakh from her former employer’s house in Basavapura .
Senior officer said,the family was not happy with Varalakshmi’s work and sacked few days ago.Agitated Varalakshmi before moving out accessed the duplicate keys of the house and waited for the opportunity .
She kept a watch on the house and realized that the family had gone to temple on Kasturba road .
Making use of the opportunity Varalakshmi gained entry into the house using the duplicate keys and escaped with the valuables.The family after returning home found the valuables missing and filed a complaint.
The police found that no force entry into the house and going by the modus operandi it was suspected insiders job.
Meanwhile a child in the neighbouring house had seen Varalakshmi coming out the house and informed her parents who in turn tipped the victims.
Based on the information,the police picked up Varalakshmi from her house in Maratahalli and a detailed questioning led to the confession and recovery of the stolen valuables .
