Police Inspector & PSI trapped and arrested red handed by Lokayukta while accepting bribe of Rs.1 Lakh

The Lokayukta officials on tuesday trapped a Police Inspector and his junior red handed while accepting a bribe of rupees one lakh from accused of a cheating case to help him .

The duo had demanded six lakh from the Keshavamurthy to drop charges against him and caught while accepting the first installment of the bribe .

The duo identified as Shivaji Rao Inspector KG Nagar and police Sub Inspector Shivanand have been booked under PC Act and taken into custody for further investigations.

According to the officials,Shivananda had been booked for cheating,Uttamchand,a businessman in 2020 promised to get him bar license and taken away Rs.1.3 crore and one Kilogram of gold valuables.

Keshavamurthy introduced himself as staff of a excise department and claimed to have high level contacts .

He taken the cash and valuables to bribe the officials to get him a bar license and escaped .

Uttamchand realized that he had been cheated when Keshavamurthy started avoiding him and approached the police.

The KG Nagar police though arrested him they demanded money to drop the charges.Unable to pay the bribe Keshavamurthy approached Lokayukta and filed a complaint .

It may be recalled that a head constable and constable attached to RT Nagar police station have been arrested on Monday for cheating a medical shop owner on the pretext of recovering his lost money .
