Senior IPS officer’s family in Bengaluru alleges harassment at IPL match

The Cubbon park police registered an FIR against unknown people for harassing wife of a senior IPS officer and her children during the IPL cricket match in Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

The complainant,Nitu Thakur,a professor at a private college had gone to watch the match with her daughter and son .

The trio along with other officials were sitting at the Daimond Box when a couple who were also senior officials in the central government had an argument over a trivial issue .

The accused not only shouted at them but also touched the victims inappropriately hurling abuses at them.

The entire incident was captured on the mobile phone by the son of the victim before approaching the police.

Based on the complaint,the police have registered a case charging the accused under 351(1)(criminal intimidation),352,(intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace)75(1)(sexual harassment),79 (criminalizes acts intended to insult a woman’s modesty) for further investigations.
