An under trail who was admitted after an attempt to end life,escaped from the Trauma centre at Victoria hospital , hoodwinking the security personnel in the early hours of Saturday.
The accused Chandrashekhar,according to the senior officer was involved in a robbery case facing trail.He attempted to end life by consuming crushed glass pieces in May 2.
He was admitted to prison hospital from there shifted to Victoria hospital trauma care centre under tight security.
The security personnel had put handcuffed his legs to the hospital bed,but using his skills,chandrashekhar opened the lock and escaped in the morning.
The VV Puram police visited the spot and conducted spot investigation.
The police are checking with the security personnel and hospital staff to ascertain how Chandrashekhar escaped.
Primary facie probe revealed negligence on part of the security personnel which will be ascertained in detail after conducting internal inquiry by the prison authorities and police he added.
