Special Task Force required to curb anti-Social elements: CM Siddaramaiah

Hangal:Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the need for a special task force to curb and detect anti-social elements.

Speaking to the media at NDPU College grounds in Akki Alur,he said that he would take appropriate measures to curb the communal violence in the coastal region after holding discussions with the Home Minister.

Responding to a query about the Mangalore police’s revelation that the brother of Fazil,who was murdered in Mangalore,had allegedly used compensation money (Rs. 25 lakhs) provided by the government to hire contract killers to kill Suhas Shetty,the Chief Minister said he was unaware of the details.

He promised to look into the matter after consulting with Home Minister,G Parameshwara and Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao,who both visited Mangalore the previous day.

*Government’s two-year achievement programme in Vijayanagara District:

The government is organizing a special programme to commemorate its two-year milestone in the Vijayanagara district,highlighting its achievements during this period,the CM said.

*Caste Census:Change in Stance:

Those who previously criticized me for conducting a caste census,saying it would lead to inter-caste conflicts,are now wholeheartedly welcoming the Centre’s decision to conduct one.

The CM quoted a Kannada proverb ‘Shankadinda bandare Teertha’and said that whatever Modi does is acceptable to their party members.

Earlier,they would make political statements without basing them on reality.

Doesn’t it show that their stance is driven by politics rather than facts? the Chief Minister questioned.

*Deve Gowda’s Dual policy:

In response to Former Prime Minister,Deve Gowda accusing the Congress of having a dual policy regarding Pakistan,the CM noted Deve Gowda’s own shift in stance towards Narendra Modi.

Before joining BJP, Deve Gowda’s views on Narendra Modi were not publicly aligned,but now his statements seem to have taken a different turn.Devegowda himself has dual policy,the CM said.
