Tumakuru second Additional district and session court sentenced Private firm employee to life imprisonment and fine of Rs.1 Lakh for murdering his estranged wife over domestic row

The Tumakuru second Additional district and session court on Monday convicted a 22-year-old private firm employee for murdering his estranged wife six years ago and sentenced him with life term imprisonment and a fine of one lakh .

The accused Lohit,working as graphic designer at a private firm was married to Arpitha,20,and the duo stayed for few months and later separated over domestic row .

Since it was a love marriage without their consent Apritha parents disowned her and did not allow to come back forcing Arpitha to stay in Paying Guest accommodation and working as attendant at a petrol pump station in Yeshwanthpur.

The accused continue to stalk her suspecting Apritha was having affair and using the phone gifted by him to chat and regular contact with her male friend.

He even demanded Arpitha to return his phone,but she refused.Enraged by this the accused hatched a plan to kill her .

As per the plan on February,2 ,2019, the accused went to meet her at the work place and took her out for dinner on the patch up .

The duo had dinner and he even got her ice cream before taking her to Kunigal on the pretext of long ride . While reaching the isolated place the accused pushed her down from the bike and later stamped her to death before crushing her head with a stone .

The accused later went to his grandmother mother, washed and took the blood socked cloths to Rama Lakshman hill where he set fire to the cloths and returned home .

Meanwhile the Kunigal rural police who have recovered the body found the body and with the help of HP petrol pump station uniform ascertained her identity,and informed her parents .

Based on the complaint by the parents who suspected the role of Lohith,a team of police led by Inspector Ashok Kumar police gathered the CCTV footages and the call record details to confirm his role and arrested him.

The police recovered the mobile phones,burnt clothes, slippers,stone and the bike used for the murder and filed a charge-sheet before the court.
