ieutenant Governor K.Kailashnathan’s humility shone brightly during the Republic Day “At Home”reception at Raj Nivas,Puducherry.
Despite the presence of dignitaries like Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, his cabinet, and opposition leaders, the L-G’s focus was on honoring Padma Shri awardee,Thavil exponent P.Datchanamoorthy.
The event, marked by the L-G’s warm hospitality, saw Mr. Kailashnathan personally felicitate Mr. Datchanamoorthy, acknowledging his invaluable contribution to the art.
This gesture underscored the L-G’s respect for artistic excellence and his commitment to celebrating local talent.
However, the evening was marred by the unruly behavior of some Raj Nivas officials. While the national anthem was being played,a few Raj Nivas officials disrupted the solemn occasion.
They were also seen engaging in attention-seeking antics, undermining the decorum of the event and disrespecting the L-G and other guests.
Notably, several legislators who had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Speaker R.Selvam were absent, with the exception of MLA Shivashankar.
Despite these disruptions, the L-G maintained his composure and continued to engage with the guests, demonstrating his grace and commitment to upholding the spirit of the Republic Day celebrations.
