Bagalkote (Badami):Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai said Indian medical practices have a great tradition, and Ayurveda has remedies for all diseases.
Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Veera Pulakeshi Rural Ayurvedic Medical College in Badami today,he said the medical profession is a noble one as they could have become engineers, businessmen, or politicians.
But being a doctor is a blessing. It is a profession of honor and respect.Doctors are those who not only relieve the pain of humans but also of animals.
He said Basavanna had said that compassion is the foundation of dharma. He wished well for all living beings.
If doctors are happy, everyone else will be happy too. However, if doctors bring their personal frustrations or family disputes into their work, it can worsen the condition of the patient.
Therefore, doctors should always wear a smile. A smile is a sign of mental health, and when the mind is healthy, it reflects on the face.
The former CM said they must possess knowledge. The difference between humans and animals lies in knowledge.Knowledge leads to science, science to electronics, and electronics to software. If you acquire this, you will be successful. ”
How do you measure your success? If patients leave the hospital smiling because they have recovered, it is your achievement. Doctors are akin to gods; they resolve all problems”.
The MP said there is a unique relationship between doctors and medical shop owners. Earning money is one aspect, but money can sometimes lead to problems. What matters most is how many people they make happy.
Badami was ruled by the Chalukyan Empire under Pulakeshi II, a great warrior who defeated northern king Harshavardhana.
Pulakeshi II was the only southern king to defeat Harshavardhana. It is a matter of pride that they are graduating from such a historically significant land.
Bommai acknowledged the hard work of the institution’s founders and expressed his hope that it grows further and eventually becomes a medical college.
The central government is providing substantial support for establishing medical colleges. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, the highest number of medical colleges has been established. ”
We believe in Indian medical practices, which have a rich heritage. Even before the arrival of Western medicine, the Indian medical system had remedies for all diseases.
In Ayurveda, surgeries were also performed. Ayurveda offers a scientific solution. There is a significant difference between allopathy and Ayurveda.
While allopathy merely alleviates pain, Ayurveda eradicates the root cause of the disease. Medicine is a noble profession.
Earn this degree, achieve greatness, work as professionals, and ensure everyone remains happy,” he advised.
