Woman Jumps Off An Auto and Escapes After The Driver Took A Wrong Route in Bengaluru

A-30-year-old woman returning home alone after booking namma yatri autorickshaw had an horrifying experience and escaped narrowly after the driver in an inebriated state drove in different directions despite repeated requests on Thursday.

Sensing trouble the victim,a private firm employee, messages her husband and jumped from the autorickshaw near Veeranapalya on Hebbal road when the driver slow down to negotiate the hump.

She took another autorickshaw and reached home before narrating her ordeal.

Azhar khan,city based businessman husband of the victim , accompanied her to the location before calling the control room.

The police directed him to go to sampigehalli police station from there he was referred to Govindapura and finally Amruthahalli police station citing jurisdictional problems.

He finally raised the complaint with the city police social media account and shared the details.

Even raised the complaint with the Namma Yatri customer care,they took details and assured to get back but in vain”, Azhar Khan told media persons.

The victim booked the auto from Horamavu to Thanisandra to return home.She had gone to meet her relatives and booked the autorickshaw through namma yatri app at around 8.50 pm.

The driver was in inebriated state and started driving in wrong direction took the flyover.Sensing something wrong the victim started alerting him saying they are going in wrong direction but the driver was in no mood to listen and started behaving weirdly.

The victim messaged her husband and waited for an opportunity to escape and jumped out as soon as the autorickshaw climbed down the flyover and headed towards Hebbal.

The city police have creating videos to create awareness about women safety and how the emergency response initiative comes handy for the women in distress .
