45-year-old labourer was beaten to death by his roommate in srinivasanagar in CK Acchukattu police station limits over trivial row on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Srinivas who was murdered by his friend Nagaraj,36,also a construction worker.
Senior officer told reporters,Srinivas was living with the accused in the same rented room after being estranged from his wife.
The accused,Nagaraj took away Srinivas’s mobile and delayed in returning,this led to a heated argument and Nagaraj attacked Srinivas with an immersion rod used to heat water.
After sustaining head injured he went to sleep and next day was found dead by Nagaraj who fled the scene.The police said that they were intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The CK Achukattu police have registered a murder case and arrested the accused who was on the run for further investigations.
