Refused to lend Rs.20,000 proved fatal as a 45-year-old meat shop owner was hacked to death by his employee at his house in Begur on Monday.
The deceased Ali Afsar had lend three lakh to his employee identified as Akbar for over one year but he did not repay.
Akbar started demanding an additional of Rs.20,000 more from Afsar for which he refused sating that he did not return the earlier loan.
The accused had earlier worked with the elder brother of deceased and even borrowed loan from him too.
Heated argument ensued between them over the same issue following which Akbar pushed Afsar on the ground in a fit of rage.
Thinking that Afsar would get up and attack him,Akbar attacked him with a machete used to cut meat.
A severe blow on the neck rendered Afsar succumbed to his injuries on the spot.The accused fled the shop leaving Afsar in a pool of blood.
The neighbours hearing the commotion rushed to the spot and alerted the police .
The Begur police rushed to the spot and later arrested the accused and taken him into custody for further investigation.
