Minor performing wheeling under influence of use of narcotics booked under JJ Act and NDPS Act by Commercial Street police

T he Commercial street police have booked a 15-year-old boy after he was caught performing wheeling on the busy Venkataswamy Naidu road in Shivajinagar and later found him under the influence of drugs .

Based on the complaint filed by Padamanabah Nagaraj, PSI with Shivajinagar traffic,the commercial street police have registered a case against the boy and his father charging them under NDPS and JJ Act .

Senior officer told reporters,the traffic police stepped up patrolling based on complaints from the members of general public about a minor boy performing bike stunts on road endangering the safety of others .

The police team reached the spot on Saturday and intercepted the juvenile riding the scooter along with his friend.

The police seized the scooter for performing dangerous stunts and not having DL.

Suspecting the behaviour,the police subjected the rider for medical examination and proved that he was under the influence of tetrahydrocannabinol,(marijuana).

During investigation the special wheelie squads found that the accused had borrowed the scooter from his relative.

The police have summoned the father of accused and booked him under JJ Act for further investigation.

The boy was handed over to the Child welfare committee for further procedure while the father of the accused has been booked and released on station bail said Kuldeep Kumar R Jain,DCP Traffic East.

The city traffic police have launched a special drive against youth performing bike stunts and booking cases against them and the owner of the vehicles.

After receiving complaints by general public on various social media platforms the Bengaluru City traffic police has launched a massive special drive and directed all the police stations across city to keep a tab on wheelie wonkers and asked to form a Anti-wheelie squads in each station.

As many as around 70 notorious wheelie Cliff or wonkers arrested and cases were booked and atleast 60 two wheelers have been seized by all the Traffic police Station across city in last 10 days

MN Anucheth Joint CP Traffic said Cases will be booked against the bike owners and parents of the minor offenders while the driving license of the other offenders have been seized and sent to transport department for suspension.The drive will be continued to keep a check on bikers posing threats to motorists.
