Praveen Nettaru murder case:NIA searches at 16 locations in Karnataka, Tamilnadu & seized incriminating documents

T he National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at multiple locations in the southern states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu in connection with Praveen Nettaru’s murder case.

The searches were carried out at premises linked with the absconding accused,suspects and their associates which NIA has been investigating since August 2022.

The NIA took over the probe from Bellary police in Karnataka.

The officials seized digital devices and incriminating documents during today’s searches, carried out as part of NIA’s ongoing investigation .

As many as 19 people have so far been arrested in this case and chargesheets have been filed by NIA against 23 people,including four absconding accused.

Non-bailable warrants and rewards have also been issued against seven absconding accused who are on the run and efforts are on to secure them.

Praveen Nettaru,BJP Yuva Morcha’s Dakshina Kannada District Secretary,was hacked to death with sharp weapons in a brutal attack on July, 26, 2022 by members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).

The murder was aimed at instilling fear among specific section of the society,the NIA release,said .
