Chennai:A fresh chapter has unfolded in the ongoing feud between Tamil cinema stars Dhanush and Nayanthara.
Dhanush has initiated legal proceedings against Nayanthara,her husband Vignesh Shivan,and their production house,Rowdy Pictures Private Limited,in the Madras High Court.
The crux of the issue lies in the alleged unauthorized use of visuals from Dhanush’s production,”Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,”in Nayanthara’s Netflix documentary, “Nayanthara:Beyond The Fairy Tale.
“Dhanush’s production company,Wunderbar Films Private Limited, has also sought permission to sue Los Gatos Production Services India LLP,a Netflix subsidiary, for the same reason.
Dhanush’s legal team has asserted that the unauthorized usage of the copyrighted material constitutes a clear violation of intellectual property rights.
The actor has issued a stern warning to Nayanthara and Netflix to remove the infringing content within 24 hours, failing which he would pursue legal action,including seeking damages of up to Rs.10 crore.
In response, Nayanthara took to Instagram to express her disappointment over Dhanush’s demands,calling it a “new low.”
She also shared a post thanking other filmmakers like Shah Rukh Khan,Chiranjeevi,and Ram Charan for granting permission to use footage from their films in her documentary without any hesitation or delay.
The legal battle between these two prominent figures in the LAST Tamil film industry is now unfolding in the courts, with the outcome eagerly awaited by fans and industry insiders alike.
