he Koramangala police have nabbed a gang of seven including a woman for honey trapping a 31-year-old businessman posing as policemen and rob his gold and cash worth over Rs.5 lakh on last sunday.
The victim identified as Pothula Shiva,from Nellore befriend a woman on social media and went to meet her in Penugonda from there the duo had come to Pavagada.
While walking on the road,two men in a car intercepted and forced them in a car and took them to a house and assaulted him before robbing gold valuables worth 4.2 lakh.
The accused later let the woman go but continue to torture Shiva demanding Rs.10 lakh for his release.
Shiva managed to negotiate and brought the amount to five lakh.He asked his friend Raghu to come with the ATM card to Majestic in Bengaluru where the accused reached and took the card from him.
The accused later went around the city and withdrew the money in an ATM situated in Koramangala,while they were fighting over the issue outside the ATM a police sub inspector on rounds noticed the commotion and intervened sensing trouble the accused tried to flee was caught by police and brought them to station.
A detailed questioning led them to confess.Based on the confession the police arrested Monika,Harish, Harikrishna,Naresh,Rajkumar,Narasimha and Anjanil from Nellore in AP.
The victim Shiva working in a medical shop came in contact with Monika and they were in relationship.
Monika later shifted her workplace and joined a YouTube channel owned by Anjanil.
Anjanil married but has relationship with Monika.
He had incurred financial loss and with Monika decided to trap Shiva.
As per the plan she called Shiva and fixed the date to meet.
While Monika was with Shiva Anjanil along with the accused followed him and later abducted to rob.Sarah Fathima,DCP,Southeast told reporters.
