In the wave against the government,Congress will be swept away in the coming by-elections:Bommai
Hubballi:Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai said the people across the state have turned against the Congress government, ensuring that Congress will be swept away in the three upcoming by-polls.
Speaking to the media in Hubballi on Monday,he said that the people are angered by the state government’s issuance of notices to farmers in the name of Waqf property.
Realizing their mistake, the Chief Minister has now withdrawn these notices. If the government did nothing wrong, why would they withdraw the notices given to farmers?”.
He said Housing,Minorities Welfare and Waqf Minister Zameer has said that the notices were issued as per the Chief Minister’s orders, and Deputy Commissioners have confirmed that the notices were issued under ministerial directives. Now,realizing that people will turn against them, the government has made a U-turn.
Bommai criticized the government and said this is a type of U-turn government. They acquire sites and then return them, they loot the funds of the Valmiki Corporation and later claim to return them.
In the matter of Waqf, they issue notices to farmers and, when faced with opposition, retract them. The state government has been consistently acting in this manner.
