Kalaburagi Honey Trap: CCB police arrests Nalpad brigade president Manjula and her husband in Bengaluru blackmailing case

The CCB officials trapped a 32-year-old woman and her husband red handed for honey trapping a former minister and came to receive the ransom amount near mall in Ashoka Nagar on Saturday.

The accused Manjula Patil and her husband Shivraj Patil,39 from,Alanda,Gulbarga part of the Nalpad brigade association in Gulbarga,have been produced before the court and taken into police custody for eight days .

The duo was arrested based on the complaint filed by son of the former minister with the CCB on Friday .

According to the complaint, the accused befriended the former minister Malikayya Guttedar over the phone and started having video calls and recorded the conversations .

Using the recorded clips she started blackmailing Mr. Guttedar demanding a rasom of Rs.20 lakh threatening to make it public .

The couple also met the son,Ritesh Guttedar,claiming to be president of Nalpad brigade group in Gulbarga showing the video calls and conversation details with Malikaiah Guttedar .

She also shared the locations to handover the ransom Unable to bear harassment,Ritesh approached the CCB and filed a complaint .

Based on the complaint,a team of officials raided the place and arrested the couple charging them under section 308 (extortion).

The accused Manjula had clicked photos with congress youth president Nalpad and also with Shanti Nagar MLA, Harris Nalpad in many photographs and shared in her social media account .

The CCB officials probing further to ascertain her criminal background and possible involvement of others said a senior officer.
