he Kamakshipalya police on tuesday opened fire and shot at Rowdy-Sheeter who stripped and assaulted a man over old rivalry .
The accused Pavan alias Kadubu,28, had assaulted another man while searching for his rival to settle a score on Sunday.
Senior officer said that due to internal differences between Pavan and his associates,one of his associate released the video of the incident on social media.
The video,which is suspected to be a month old shows Pavan forcing a youth to strip in the middle of the road and run naked.
The victim has not approached the police but the police tracked him down identified as Nagarajuna and recorded his statement before registering a case against Pavan.
Meanwhile,on Sunday night,the same rowdy sheeter assaulted a man,identified as Vishwas,in Srinivasapura in the Kamakshipalya police station limits.
Taking a serious note on this incident,a team of police set a massive manhunt for the Pavan and tracked him down at the Ullala based on the technical inputs.
A team of police surrounded the area and warned Pavan to surrender, but in a bid to escape he attacked Head Constable Venkatesh with a knife and tried to escape .
Police Inspector of Govindarajnagar,Subramani K,opened fire at the left leg to stop him from fleeing and later shifted both Venkatesh and Pavan to a hospital for further treatment.
A case has been registered in Jnanabharathi police station and further investigations are on.
